Ciao! My name is Nico and I am the head chef of Nonna Lia. With my team, we are on a mission to make the most authentic Tiramisù in Toronto.

We use a family recipe that has been passed on in my family for more than 100 years. Each box is hand crafted using premium quality imported ingredients and following methods of the Italian tradition.

Part I - The Beginning

My family history is long and exciting. Tales of people travelling to New York, Africa, France and much more. Today, the focus is on my great grandma: Nonna Lia.

Lia lived most of her life in a small town in the North West of Italy called Cuneo, the same city I was born. While she lived a quiet and simple life, she was also known for her incredible culinary skills.

Her recipes were passed on in my family, generation after generation, and eventually made their way to my kitchen station. This is how our Tiramisù recipe was born.

Part II - The Journey

When I was 17 years old I decided to do a year abroad in Canada. One thing led to another and I ended up staying in this beautiful Country, eventually making my way to Toronto.

Nonna Lia’s Tiramisù recipe was a staple at every lunch or dinner with friends. When COVID hit, and finding good desserts became increasingly more difficult, I decided to take this opportunity to share my Tiramisù recipe with the World. That is how it all started.

After a few weeks of research, we started selling on social media and the response could not be better. We slowly expanded, but our vision never changed. To make the most authentic Tiramisù in Toronto.

Part III - The Innovation

Today, we continue to honour the origins of our recipe while adding a pinch of innovation, in order to bring an exciting experience to you. We take inspiration from what we see around us and from special moments in our life.

Matcha is dedicated to a month-long road trip in Japan. Mango-passion fruit celebrates happy afternoons when we would grab ice cream from the local store in my city. Pistachio reminds me of the summers spent traveling to Sicily.
